Dear All:
Announcement of Funds to Support Law Students Doing Research in
China
The China Law Center at Yale Law School has a limited fund to support
law students doing research in the People’s Republic of China. This
support is principally for research conducted during the summer of 2001,
but applications for research during term-time will also be considered.
To be eligible to receive support, you must be a degree candidate at a
U.S. law school; your research must relate to a writing project that you
intend to seek to publish in an English-language publication; and, if you
are a non-U.S. citizen, you must meet relevant immigration and visa
guidelines.
Students interested in applying for these funds should submit an
application containing:
1. A description of your writing project, including a description of work
already done and an explanation of why research in China is necessary to
complete it;
2. A description of your proposed research in China, including a
description of your research methodology and any proposed arrangements
with cooperating Chinese institutions or individuals;
3. A proposed budget, including an indication of other sources of funding
available to support your research, especially from your own university;
4. A resume, including names of faculty references and an indication of
your Chinese-language level;
5. A law school transcript;
6. A writing sample.
Applications should be received no later than March 1, 2001.
Applications should be sent, attention to Jennifer Choo, to:
