Required Text: Administration of Government Contracts (Nash & Cibinic, 3d ed., 1995).

Supplemental Texts: The Government Contracts Reference Book (Nash, Schooner & O'Brien, 2d ed., 1998) (strongly recommended). Federal Procurement Law, (Nash & Cibinic, 3rd ed., Vol. II, 1980) (should be on reserve in the library).

Additional Readings: Other materials, as listed below and distributed in class.

Grading: Two take-home research and discussion problems (answers strictly limited to 1000 words) will make up two thirds (66%) of your grade. A two-hour final exam will account for the other third (34%).  In addition, consistent with our expectations for your performance in the classroom, we reserve the right to adjust grades for class attendance, preparation, and participation.

Reading: Familiarity with the material in the textbook is essential to successful performance in this course. (If you are pressed for time, you should at least skim the assigned reading.) In addition, careful, critical reading of the assigned cases permits meaningful class participation, which in turn will assist in developing the issue spotting and analytical skills that play a key role in the graded course work. Further, we recommend that each student should volunteer to discuss at least one case in class during the course of the semester.
