WHO is eligible?
- Current GW Law students,
- Working in an unpaid legal public service job this summer,
- For a total of at least 320 hours (8 weeks at 40 hours per week)
Eligible public service employers include:
- A 501(c) or non-profit organization
- A government agency (federal, state, or local)
- A judge
WHAT are the requirements?
To be eligible to apply for an EJF summer stipend, a student must:
- Volunteer. Each applicant must complete at least 16 hours of volunteer work with EJF.
- Get a Job! Just like your dad always said.
- Apply. Submit a completed EJF 2010 Public Service Summer Stipend Application or a GWULS Public Interest Subsidy Programs Application.

WHEN are the applications due?
- All application materials need to be turned in by Friday, April 1st, 2011 by 5 pm to the EJF Mailbox in the Records Office.
- Don't wait to get involved! Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year, so start early!
HOW are stipend applications evaluated?
- The Stipends Evaluation Committe consists of EJF Executive Board members and EJF Auction Co-Chairs who are not applying for stipends.
- Applications are graded based on:
- The job description in the Employer Commitment Letter;
- The applicant's prior public interest and community service experience;
- The applicant's current dedication to and future interest in public interest work; and
- The applicant's overall participation in EJF event, as measured by volunteer hours.
HOW MUCH money does EJF distribute?
- Stipends will be distributed in the amount of $3,000 each.
- The number of stipends distributed is contingent on the revenue raised in EJF fundraisers.
- Note: EJF cannot guarantee that all applicants will receive stipends.
