HLSA's First Event of the Semester Was a Huge Success

WASHINGTON - HLSA held its first event of the school year last week. To celebrate the start of the 2007-2008 term and to welcome the first-year students to the Law School, dozens of HLSA members, first-year students and HLSA friends met at Cafe Citron, in Dupont Circle, on Thursday, August 23, 2007. HLSA is proud to have partnered with Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP, whose sponsorship of the event made it all possible. The get-together was a complete success, with plenty of food and excitement to keep the event going well into the evening. The diverse group of attendees included members of all four first-year sections, second-year students, third-year students, professors, Mayer Brown attorneys and HLSA friends. Stay tuned for future events.

HLSA Nominated for HNBA's 2007 Student Organization of the Year

WASHINGTON - HLSA was recently nominated, and will be considered for the Hispanic National Bar Association's (HNBA's) 2007 Law Student Organization of the Year. The selected organization will be announced at the 2007 HNBA Convention “Lawyering in the Americas: El Abogado Global”, taking place in San Juan, Puerto Rico from October 3-7, 2007.

HLSA Hosts Interviewing Workshop

WASHINGTON - On Wednesday, April 11, 2007, HLSA was proud to host Arent Fox as it presented the workshop 'Interviews: What to Do and What Not to Do.' The event, held on campus, attracted a couple dozen HLSA members to hear Arent Fox partner Dan H. Renberg give valuable tips and advice for the summer's upcoming On Campus Interviews (OCI).
