This year, GW Law is hosting Region 4 of the National Trial Competition, a prestigious national trial advocacy competition run by the Texas Young Lawyers Association. The regional competition will take place on Saturday, February 11 and Sunday, February 12, 2012. Twenty-four teams from law schools in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia will be competing, and the two highest ranked teams after four rounds of competition will advance to the national finals in March.

We are seeking judges for the morning and afternoon rounds on February 11, as well as judges for the morning round on February 12. Any practitioners interested in volunteering to judge either round of the competition should contact the Competition Chair, Meredith Dempsey, at mdempsey@law.gwu.edu.

The Mock Trial Board is also gearing up for the Spring 1L Competition, scheduled to be held at the Moultrie Courthouse on Saturday, February 25. All current 1Ls interested in competing should join the 1L Competition TWEN page and attend info sessions in January for more information about how to sign up to compete. Additionally, any practitioners interested in volunteering to judge the 1L Competition should contact the Judges Chair, Matt Vogel, at mavogel@law.gwu.edu.
