Cohen & Cohen Competition
What is Cohen & Cohen Competition?
The Cohen & Cohen Competition is George Washington Law's annual upper class students and transfer student competition for credit. Board membership is not a requirement. This competition offers students another opportunity to make the Mock Trial Board. Since the competition involves upperclassmen, the expectations for trial preparation, presentation, and knowledge of evidence are higher than the Spring Internal Competition for first year students. Additionally, students must submit a written motion in limine. Students must prepare both sides of the case.
When is the competition?
The Cohen & Cohen Competition is usually held in mid-October. For 2011-2012, the competition is scheduled for Saturday, October 22. The quarter and semi-final rounds will be held on October 30, and the final round will be on November 8.
Who can participate?
Cohen & Cohen is open to upper-level students and transfer students. 1Ls are not eligible to compete in Cohen & Cohen, but can participate as witnesses.
Can I get credit for doing this competition?
Participants who register and meet all the requirements of the competition can receive 1 academic credit.
How can I sign up?
Intent to compete forms are due by the Add/Drop date. Participants must also register for the competition during the initial registration period before the Add/Drop date.
