I.                   Attendance and Approval of Minutes from October 7, 2003.

 

II.                President’s Report: we are working on the Graduate Alcohol Policy and the graduate affairs committee has been trying to get contact information for us at the different schools.  Mike and Corrie are working with Westlaw about a potential use of a TWEN site for a school-wide outline bank.  And, a link to an event calendar for just student organizational activities should be up and running soon from the portal.

VI.              Class Representative Reports

1.      3L Reps: spoke to administration about the clerkship issue. They are sorry about it and suggested they hold an open meeting for student feedback. 3L reps thought it would be a bad idea. At this point there isn’t anything the SBA can do.

3.      1L Reps: we discussed class taping briefly. They won’t tape for any reason and there are taping form available on 1st floor of E building.

4.      LLM Rep: wondered what to do about bike racks – will email Dean Morrison.

 

VII.           Committee Reports

1.      Academic Affairs

4.      Community Service: Made about $3000 on light the night walk and about $230 on the bake sale. Planning a can drive on Nov. 20 and also the angel tree fundraiser.

5.      Commencement

6.      Constitutional Committee: had their 2nd meeting. Flushed out Art. I of the Constitution.

7.      Elections

8.      First Year Programs: 1st week in Nov planning a survival skills seminar for married students. If you know any married students who would be willing to be on the panel please email cbrooks@law.gwu.edu. Mentor/mentee program needs more people. The mixer will be Monday.

9.      Graduate Affairs: had their first meeting; delegated duties.

14.  Program Board: Thirsty Thursday was a big success; thanks to those who helped. Halloween tickets on sale the 22nd. They will be $15 until the last 2 days where the price will go up to $20. The party is open bar from 10-2 and costume contest will be at midnight.

15.  Public Relations: we have a new bulletin board in the lounges. We will have a permanent sign courtesy of the administration.

VIII.        Old Business

 

IX.              New Business: We have 2 ad hocs, Constitutional Committee and BLSA. Constitutional committee and BLSA are co-sponsoring a speaker. Eric Boulder the former Deputy US General. The date is TBA. Both groups budgets are almost extinguished. The voting members granted $250 to the constitutional Committee, and $150 to BLSA. The SBA told the Constitutional Committee to come back later this semester to ad hoc for a January event.
